Coprinus comatus Shaggy Inkcap This species is very common in grasslands and is easy to identify especially as the cap begins to ripen and drip black liquid spores onto the ground. Another edible species but only when young and has to be cooked the same day. There are many other species and most of these also have caps that dissolve into liquid spores.
