Guardianship Scheme

Estate and Petersfield C of E Primary School, Orwell.
The
Wimpole Estate and Petersfield C of E Primary School in Orwell have been
members of the Guardianship scheme since 2001. The property and
school have long enjoyed a close relationship and the Guardianship
scheme gave an opportunity to consolidate and develop this relationship.
The
school makes numerous visits to the Property throughout the year and the
children have worked with great enthusiasm on the tasks allocated to
them. In 2008 they did the Petersfield potato project where all the
children came and planted and subsequently harvested potatoes on the
Estate. In 2009
Petersfield
School
and the Estate are doing a Glorious Sunflowers project growing field
sunflowers at the Farm and also doing a giant sunflower competition with
a variety of sunflower called Kong.
